Tattoo Aftercare

  • Keep second skin on for 3 to 5 days. In the case of colour tattoos, you may be given an additional sheet of second skin to replace the old one after the first day.

  • After 1 day, there may be a build-up of fluid underneath the second skin, this is completely normal. It’s plasma generating new skin.

  • When it comes to removing the second skin, soak it with running warm water, preferably whilst showering. Roll back the second skin away from you, being extra careful not to pull or tug it during the removal.

  • Gently wash the tattoo with an antibacterial soap, patting it dry with a clean paper towel.

  • Leave the tattoo open without applying any aftercare cream for a few hours.

  • Use aftercare cream sparingly twice a day whilst healing, washing the tattoo carefully before applying the cream each time. Any unscented cream or designated aftercare cream is always recommended.

  • DO NOT scratch or pick at your new tattoo during the healing process. This will cause the ink to “drop out”.

  • DO NOT fully submerge the tattoo in water, avoid hot tubs and swimming for at least 4 weeks.

  • DO NOT expose the tattoo to direct sunlight, always use factor 50 after the tattoo is fully healed.
